Subject: my birthday show!
i turned 31 this day- however i was on the OR coast... Phil continues to make brilliant music- music as much his as anyone else's...so can we please stop a) saying how there's no jerry, and b) stop implying that what Phil does is somehow a nostalgia act or derivative. Phil, along with Jerry, was the earliest experimental center. To discount one is to discount the other. Friends, this music is alive...can't you feel it?
Btw, great show, great sound, happy birthday me!

At my usual position, right side up close. Another night of learning! I was again blown away.
Remember gang He is gone. No one person is going to do what He did in that band, ever. They can't, He isn't playing. Can another gang of brothers achieve another path to the same region of bliss and learning? Yes they can and have. As this show and others have recently proven.
Phillip you're doing one heck of a grateful community service with these shows. Take it easy. No need now to grind yourself to a pulp. Exceptional insights are being born through the vibrations that your music brings to the soul of all matter. Super String Man! Enjoy people, share and enjoy. Incredible muse-ic.

Subject: Another SMOKIN P&F Show!!!!
P&F has continued to maintain a high energy performance. I wasn't at the show, but it's obvious the band had it going on.
Gotta say it, sure it's not Jerry, there will never be another Jerry, a one of a kind guitar player and yea, that voice. Jerry always sang from somewhere deep inside. His songs were heartfelt stories lived or seen in vision.
Cheers to Phil and his gang of talented musicians!!! Thanks!!!

phil & the ensemble are awful dam close to realizing the grateful dead's potential as the ultimate jazzy, jammy, soulful, cosmic blues/folk band. i would never have believed it could be done without jerry, but here it is. listen to it.
i only wish the other boys could catch this groove. then we'd have a 40th year to celebrate.

At 3 hours plus its easy to see from this show that it wasn't on account of Phil that the GD's shows dwindling down to the 2 hour range (10 YEARS AGO!) That being said it's still hard for me to listen to Phil & any of his friends and not miss Garcia.
To the person below who said quote "Let's see,....Jerry's legacy.....taking drugs, writing a few songs, being a shitty father, playing decent guitar,..treating the women in his life like shit." If you think Jerry's playin was only "decent" I gather you've never listened to him. As for the "a few songs" this 3 hrs plus night would have been alot shorter without the 8 or so Jerry tunes Phil borrowed. It's allright to be "new school" but if you think knocking Jerry is cool you need to return to school.

This show is a new shool of Phil & Friends and it rocks. Chris Robinson on vocals are my highlight and the Houseman brings the funkc. Horns, mandolin, steel pedal and of course, Phil, Jimmy and Molo, make this 4 discs worth it. Avegarge sound>

I thought this P&F vintage worked exceptionally well together. The Warfield was done on 4 days practice. This was one big throwdown. Well done.
And this fan really enjoyed the addition of Sless, CR, Molitz and the RRE guys....Ummmn not to mention Gloria and Jackie!!! Stronger at the Warfield, nonetheless what a treat.
Great recording. Really enjoyed most of the song selection. Wish Barry Sless was turned up a little higher.
The Life is a Carival really brought back some good ol days memories. The 2nd set gets goin!

This show was a lot of fun. The music is NOT typical P&F sound and certainly will never be mistaken for the Grateful dead any time soon.
The scarlet is very well played. The culmination fo the jam into Brown sugar is hot- but would have been better had they played Fire.
Other hightlighrs I remember from the show are UJB, Bertha, and Midnight hour. Infact the run from Scarlet on is the best part of the show.
Bravo boys bravo!! I only give 5 stars to soundboards and this one is aud but is sooo hot that I am tempted. When Phil releases this show as on official P&F release in te near future- cd's are already availbe for pre order- the sbds will blow this copy away.
enjoy!

my hats off. More clear than the previous two. Very clear I can hear alot more of Jimmy. I must admit, Ilike the Intensity of the bass on Rob's recording too. I'll keep both. Thank's for the music.
